Rhodonite is an Off Color Gem, and an original character that appears in Steven Universe. KJD has drawn her interpretation of her components, Pearl and Ruby.

Appearance[]

Rhodonite has an appearance similar to that of other Rhodonites, as she has a curvy body with two slim arms and two thick arms. Her skin is raspberry pink and she has two large black eyes and two small dull pink eyes, a pointed nose, and undefined lips. Her hair is in an afro that is wide, being a mix of black and dull mauve. Her top pair of arms are thick and strong, while her second pair are skinny. Her gemstones are on her chest and navel and are light pink and burgundy.

She wears a black and very dark purple sleeveless bodysuit that exposes her left leg, and she also has a transparent light pink shawl that goes over her shoulders. On her arms she wears long dark purple gloves and wears a dark burgundy boot on her left foot and a black ballet flat on her right foot.

Personality[]

Rhodonite is shown to stress out a lot, and she is easily frightened. She is also extremely paranoid, possibly due to the eons spent hiding inside the underground Kindergarten on Homeworld. However, Rhodonite is also very kind and can be level headed at times. Her panic and anxiety get in the way of her job as head of strategic operation in the Off Colors, as she'll more often than not discard options for being too risky. However, one can argue that this also has a silver lining, keeping a defensive look over the team.

Abilities[]

Rhodonite possesses standard Gem abilities, bubbling, shapeshifting, fusion, regeneration, agelessness, and superhuman strength/durability.

An unidentified component Pearl's gemstone on Rhodonite, located on her chest. It resembles a cabochon, a gemstone that has been polished, but not faceted. Its exact colors are unknown, due to being covered by a translucent shawl. Although not seen, it can be presumed to be identical in color to Rhodonite's Ruby gemstone, as per most fusions.
